In order to make your visit more enjoyable, we are providing the answers to our most frequently asked questions.

1. What are your hours?
  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday-Thursday: 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm
  • Friday: 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm
  • Saturday: 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
  • Sunday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
2. I've never skied or snowboarded before. Should I take a lesson?

Yes, we highly encourage first-time skiers and snowboarders to take a lesson. Our skilled instructors will ensure a positive and enjoyable experience on the slopes.

3. I’ve never been to Holiday Mountain. What is there to do?

Welcome! Holiday Mountain offers trails for all skill levels, equipment rentals, ski and snowboard lessons, and weekend snow tubing. Enjoy family-friendly snow tubing at our North Lodge.

4. Can I help my child ski on the beginner trail without a ticket?

A lift ticket is required for access to the learning center. If you plan to assist your child, please purchase a ticket.

5. What should we bring?

Dress warmly in layers with waterproof snow pants, jackets, gloves, and a hat. Sunglasses or goggles are recommended. For tubing, wear durable, treaded winter boots.

6. Is a helmet required? Is it included in my rental package?

Helmets are optional but encouraged for safety. They are not included in the rental package and must be purchased separately.

7. Can I bring my dog or pet?

Dogs are not allowed on the property, except for service animals trained to assist individuals with disabilities.

8. Can I bring my own sled?

For safety, sleds and similar items are not permitted. However, our snow tubing experience is available for $25.

9. Do I need a lift ticket for the Learning Center or if I’m not using the lift?

Yes, a lift ticket is required for all on-snow activities, including the Learning Center.

10. Can I walk on the learning center to assist my child?

If you plan to be on the learning center hill, you must purchase a lift ticket and have full equipment.

11. Can we purchase multi-day rentals and lift tickets?

We only offer daily tickets and rentals. Frequent visitors can consider a season pass. Seasonal rentals are available locally.

12. Can I change my ticket to another day?

Yes, but changes must be made before the original date with a minimum $5 fee per ticket.

13. I booked my lesson. What’s next?

Arrive 1 hour early to pick up your ticket and rentals. Line up 5-10 minutes before lesson start time. Parents can relax in our South Lodge cafeteria or Lift Room bar.

14. Is food and drink available on-site?

Yes, food and drinks are available in both the North Lodge (tubing) and South Lodge (skiing and snowboarding), each with its own bar.

15. How far is Holiday Mountain from NYC?

Holiday Mountain is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge.

16. Is there a height requirement for tubing?

Yes, tubers must be at least 44 inches tall. For double tubes, riders must be 42 inches or taller and accompanied by an adult.

17. Do I have to purchase tickets ahead of time?

We recommend purchasing tickets in advance to secure your spot, especially for snow tubing, which sells out quickly. Reserve online at shop.skiholidaymtn.com.

18. Can I pay at the mountain?

We recommend booking online in advance. In-person purchases are possible, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

19. If we arrive late for a lesson or tubing, can we join the next session?

Your reserved session time is fixed. Late arrivals may not be accommodated, but if space allows, we’ll try to assist.

20. If I cannot make it, can I get a refund?

Tickets are nonrefundable. However, you may request a date change prior to your reserved day.

21. How do I get to the top of the tubing hill?

A magic carpet lift is available. Stand and hold the tube in front of you. Walking up the lift hill is not allowed.

22. What sizes do you offer for rentals?
  • Ski boots: Toddler size 6 to adult 17
  • Skis: 70cm to 170cm
  • Snowboard boots: Toddler size 10 to adult 12
  • Snowboards: 80cm to 160cm
23. Can I change my rental package?

Yes, with an exchange fee at the front counter in the South Lodge.

24. Do you tune, repair, or wax personal equipment?

We currently do not service personal equipment.

25. I forgot to return my rentals. What should I do?

Please contact us immediately at 845-796-3161. An unreturned equipment fee of $350 may apply.

26. Do you accept cash?

Holiday Mountain is a cashless venue. Please plan accordingly.

27. Do you have grab-and-go options for meals?

Yes, we offer grab-and-go as well as sit-down meal options to keep you fueled during your visit.
